When I’m having a crazy productive day, sometimes I just need/want to be in jeans a basic tee. Ya feel?
It’s really difficult for me to find denim (or bottoms in general) that fit me well. They’re either super skinny or not skinny enough––or tight around the calves but loose at the waist. These jeans from H&M hug my bass just right. Similar to Lana Del Rey’s “Blue Jeans White Shirt” lyrics, I got my blue jeans oatmeal shirt on while still trying to maintain the classic jeans and tee look. I’m also having a little difficulty finding replacements for these old Zara shoes and not having much luck. If you know of a place where I can get replacements, holler.

I first heard about Shaky Alibi from my friend Courtney. Once she brought the crack waffles into work back in 2012, I was in love.
I refer to the liege waffles as crack waffles because they’re addicting and they have these cute sugar clusters in the waffle dough. I almost always order the same thing whenever I go or order for take-out: savor waffle with turkey and smoked gouda. Also, they recommend splashing some of the Louisiana hot sauce on the savory waffles; I suggest the same. Occasionally, I’ll throw in a violet lemonade––just the right amount of floral flavor. They also toss a sliced strawberry in there for you to cleanse your palette after your waffle.
If you’re ever near The Grove, I suggest you check out Shaky Alibi on the northwest corner of Beverly and Martel. You’ll become addicted like me. That was your warning.
I spent the day in Santa Monica, walking around the Third Street Promenade and along Ocean Avenue during sunset. *cue Yellowcard’s old school track “Ocean Avenue”*
I almost never make it this far west. It’s not that I don’t want to; it’s just “LA far.” Jay was out west dogsitting at her sister’s, so I decided to pay her a visit and get a taste of the beach air. With the gnarly sunsets lately, why not spend the day at the beach? It felt a little weird being that close to the beach because I rarely go to the beach in California. It just doesn’t compare to Hawai’i (obvi).
