I was attacked by a dog before this look was photographed.
I’m totally kidding; the dog did try to nibble at me––old man Pepper, a ten-ish year-old Pekepoo who belongs to my friend Sergio. We made a day of photographing: portraits, headshots, lifestyle thangs. Tiff, X, and Brandon were there as well, sipping almond champagne from Trader Joe’s. Yuuum! Have you ever seen a movie where a guy meets a girl on the roof for some kind of rendezvous? I was inspired by that––the idea of going somewhere “secluded” but still having so many people present at the same time.
After all that shooting madness, we had Arby’s since the two New York kids, Tiff and X, had never had it! You know I’m all about that horsey sauce and Arby’s sauce 😉
Am I the only one who’s the most basic when it comes to Arby’s? Ha.
Some of you may be thinking I’m being literal here––that I’ll be talking about a killer. Yes and no. I’ve always been fond of the orca or killer whale, and that’s where I drew my inspiration from for this look: the simplicity and elegance of black and white. I remember being OBSESSED with the movie Free Willy when I was younger, and to be honest, I still am. It was a good movie––sad but good! 😛 I like to draw my inspiration from places you least expect to draw inspiration from.
PS I threw in an editorial-esque “running away from a killer” image as a play on the title 😉
