If you could choose any album to be the soundtrack to your life, what would it be? Maybe “Brothers” from the Black Keys cause it makes me remember a nice period of my life when I was listening to it non-stop. But it’s too hard to choose. It’s kind of limiting to me 😉
What’s your “Imma bad bitch” anthem? “Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta” – Geto Boys
What was the last thing you ate? Bananas. May sound boring but fruit is my addiction.
Who is your favorite Disney character and why? Berlioz from The Aristocats. Loved this Disney movie so much as a kid that I was watching it non-stop again and again, and Berlioz is the funniest.
Someone gives you a time machine right after this interview, where are you going? San Francisco in the late 60s. Would love to live like a hippie for a bit!
There’s something about waking up early to get more shit done. Raise your hand if you agree *inserts girl raising hand emoji* It’s true; waking up and catching that early morning light to have a productive and fulfilling day feels amazing once you’re home relaxing, thinking about what you accomplished that day––whether it be hitting up the grocery store while no one is there, beating the “convenient” hiking hour at Runyon Canyon, or doing the damn thang and getting your car washed!
Even on a weekend, you may not want to wake up early to do the things you need to do, but try not to sleep in once in a while. See how it feels.
What are some things you like to do when you wake up earlier than normal?
A few words of encouragement to start your day––or to keep you going with life.
I’ve been going to Go Get Em Tiger for a little over a year now, thanks to a friendly commendation since it’s her now husband’s coffee shop; congrats on the new baby as well! Located just south of Beverly on Larchmont, Go Get Em Tiger is tucked between Salt & Straw and a magazine stand––one that I hit up for my menswear (and womenswear) magazines.
This cute, bar-style coffee shop makes their almond milk in-house, which is nothing less of amazing. I order my standard “New York” (iced almond milk latte), which is served in a mason jar if you have it “for here.” I’ll also sometimes order a chocolate chip cookie to go with it (if I’m feeling funky). The Cornmeal Cheddar Waffle––cooked to perfection and served with smooth butter, along with honey on the side––is also a hit.
I didn’t know about the pie happy hour, but between 4PM and 8PM when you order the pie-of-the-day, your coffee (or tea) is $2 off. Shown above is the Red Plum Crisp, which I ordered a la mode. Janette ordered the same thing, but she ordered a tea to wash down her pie goodness.
What coffee shops do you frequent in Los Angeles? Let me know, and tell me wassup! 😉
